How to scan QR Codes on Pixel 8 and/or Android 14 without external App

The brand new Android 14, which is available on the Pixel 8 (and all Pixels from 5 onwards), and some others Android Smarphone, includes a built-in QR code reader that is lightweight and fast.

It can be used instead of various apps, or instead of the Pixel Camera, which still has the same function, but is objectively much heavier to run, compared to this system reader.

Here are some of the benefits of using the built-in QR code reader in Android 14:
  • It is lightweight and fast.
  • It is easy to use.
  • It is integrated into the system, so you don't need to install any additional apps.
  • It is secure.
If you are looking for a quick and easy way to scan QR codes, then the built-in QR code reader in Android 14 is a great option.
Here are some tips for using the built-in QR code reader in Android 14:
  • Open the Quick Settings panel.
  • Tap on the Scan QR code tile.
  • Point your phone's camera at the QR code.
  • The QR code will be scanned and the information encoded in it will be displayed on your screen.
You can also add the Scan QR code tile to your lock screen for quick and easy access.
To do this:
  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Tap on Display.
  3. Tap on Lock screen.
  4. Tap on Shortcuts.
  5. Tap on the + icon.
  6. Select Scan QR code.
Enjoy the video!
