I created a file while offline and now it's gone. Can I recover it somehow?
I made a doc in the google docs app yesterday while I was offline and I can't find it today. Was it deleted? Not saved? Did it save it in my phone's storage at least? As I was writing it it kept saying "all changes saved" so I'm confused why it's not.
If you work offline on a document, you must reconnect to the Internet using the same device. Docs is strictly a web-based app, and offline work is only stored temporarily on the device you're using for it. If you reconnected using the same device, it's possible your file is in Drive and you just need to find it. Please start with this Help Center article: Find files in Google Drive. Also do a search for is:unorganized and is:trashed to see if the file became orphaned.
If you are unable to locate the file, it would appear that your work is permanently gone. There isn't any way to recover offline work that is lost.
Although it's been a while since you posted, I heard from another user who said they found their offline file in the Docs app rather than in Drive. Perhaps you could take a look in the Docs app to see if your work is there.
