Your profile showcases your public contributions to Maps, such as photos and reviews. On your profile page, you can:
- Edit your profile name and picture.
- Add a short bio to your profile.
- Find your past contributions and posts.
- Find the views and reactions on your contributions.
- Review your topic chips and stats.
Tip: Your name, picture, and bio always appears on your profile.
Change your name & picture
Important: When you change your Google Account name and picture, Google reflects the change across all Google products you use.
Your name and picture appear at the top of your profile.
To change your name and picture:
- On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Maps app
.
- Tap Contribute
View your profile

Edit Google Account info.
Add or edit your bio
Add a short bio to your profile to tell others about yourself and the places you care about.
Tip: Your bio is visible to everyone, even if your contributions are hidden on your profile.
- On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Maps app

- Write your bio (up to 200 characters).
- Tap Save.

View Local Guide level, points, and badges
If you're a Local Guide, you can view your level, points, and badges in the Google Maps app.
- On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Maps app
.
- Tap Contribute
View your profile.
- Under your name, view your local guide level and points. Tap the arrow
to view your badges and number of contributions.
About topic chips
Topic chips are based on what you publicly write about on Maps. They are displayed to help you find people that frequently review topics of interest. Topic chips can be based on cuisine, dishes, or other places you've written about.
Tip: You can use topic chips to filter a contributor's review and photos.
