Watch videos on the Miniplayer

With the Miniplayer, you can continue to watch videos, including playlists and livestreams, while you browse YouTube.

Start the Miniplayer

While watching a video, click Miniplayer  to get started. When you click it, you’ll go back to the page you were just browsing.

Control the Miniplayer

Control playback: The video will continue to play in the Miniplayer as you navigate around the site. You can pause and play videos without leaving the Miniplayer.

Switch videos: If you click another video’s thumbnail with the Miniplayer up while browsing on Home, that video will load and play directly in the Miniplayer.

Reopen a video: If you accidentally close the Miniplayer, you can easily find the video again by reopening it from your watch history or navigating back to the video page.

Exit: Dismiss the Miniplayer by clicking  at the top-right of the player or pressing escape on your keyboard. You can also go back to the video watch page by clicking Expand .

Move and resize the Miniplayer

Move: Click and hold anywhere on the Miniplayer, then drag it to any of the four corners of your screen.

Resize: Click and drag a corner of the Miniplayer to resize it to your preference.
